While one of me (hmm, this might get confusing) headed to New York, the other went to Arlington VA, where I heard a few of the DC area TARflies were having a TARCON at M. Darcy’s friend Mark’s House (who I forgot to mention was also in Rome with me - sorry Mark). The TARflies that were there were M. Darcy, Daria and Macaddict (who for some reason, M. Darcy didn’t take any pictures of - silly M. Darcy).
Here’s a picture from the party.

Even though, they weren’t Rachel, I still had a good time meeting some new people. I had meet some of them before when I went to trivia night with M. Darcy so it was nice seeing them again.

Daria and Mark and I had lots of fun watching the finale.

There was food

and drinks

so I was able to enjoy myself. Even when someone put me high up in a stocking

but they also put me up close to the tv so I could get a close up of the Beauty Queens.

But Rachel didn’t turn up in Arlington. Oh well, maybe the other bear had more luck in NY.

I’ve been on the road for nearly seven months now, searching for my darling Rachel, and yet I still haven’t found her. I’ve had some great adventures and met many interesting people, and while it’s not the same as being with my Rachel, I’ve discovered that I really enjoy exploring the world. I was starting to wonder what I would do if I ever found her - would that be the end of my travels (unless she decided to travel, of course)? Were there any other options?
As I thought about my situation and my Rachel, a thought came to me. I know that Rachel loves the Harry Potter stories, and I know that she’s a big fan of the Weasley twins, Fred and George. Maybe, just maybe, there was a way to make this work. If Rachel loves magical twins, maybe *I* could become twins.
I thought back to my escape from the zoo, when I managed to transport myself into this body to begin my adventures. Maybe I have magical abilities, just like Harry and his friends! Maybe I could twin myself! I tried and tried, but I was still one little lonely bear. This type of magic was far beyond my skills (if I even have any), so I began to search for a real wizard to help me. After a lot of searching and secretive questions, I found a kind witch who was willing help me. I can’t post her name, as the magical world tries to keep hidden from the Muggle world here in America too, just like they do in England, but she told me that she’d met Fred and George at their shop in Diagon Alley a few years ago, so I figured that was a good sign. With a complicated spell and the flick of her wrist, she managed to transform me from a single bear (wearing a Gryffindor scarf for good luck)

into twins!!

It worked! There are now two of me! I can now cover twice as much ground in my search for Rachel! The TAR finale is coming up this weekend, so I’m planning to visit TARCon and other TARflies gatherings. I’m hoping against hope that Rachel will be there, but if she isn’t, maybe one of her friends can take me to her! A (twin) panda can always hope, can’t he?
